About

The Intel AI Hackathon offers developers a platform to showcase innovative solutions for societal advancement. Participants are encouraged to use heterogeneous computing with Intel's oneAPI as the core programming paradigm. This hackathon will lead the developers to learn and work on the industry standard Intel's optimized frameworks. Participants have the opportunity to become Intel Student Ambassadors based on their performance in the hackathon.

Problem Statements

The field of recommendation systems is intriguing and continuously advancing within this track. Your task involves creating a chatbot capable of: (1) Engaging in goal-oriented conversations with users, comprehending their requirements, and expressing them in a specialized query language. (2) Integrating the query from step (1) into a recommendation system, and subsequently presenting the user with pertinent product recommendations.

Offering a real-time solution for comprehending a developer's problem statements (prompts), this tool goes beyond mere keyword-based generation. It analyzes entire GitHub repositories to provide relevant recommendations and offers a workflow when the solution requires more than a single repository.

Craft an application that seamlessly translates your design concepts into live front-end code, ensuring a direct correlation between what you envision and the end result.

This AI solution aims to facilitate real-time translation of sign language into spoken language or text, thereby enhancing accessibility for the deaf and hard of hearing individuals.

Participants are free to choose any AI/ML related problem statement which comes under this theme.

Hackathon Phases

Round 1: Ideation

During this initial phase, participants are tasked with brainstorming ideas centred around the provided problem statements. They are required to submit a PowerPoint presentation along with a concise description that clearly explains the proposed concept, with specific reference to the Intel toolkit employed.

February 15th - March 7th

Round 2: Prototype Development

The resources essential for building with OneAPI can be found in the learning resources section. Prototypes are to be shared through GitHub repositories, with a link to DevMesh.

March 7th - April 2nd (8 PM)

Round 3: Final Round

Shortlisted participants will advance to the culminating 24-hour offline hackathon hosted at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore. During the grand finale, participants are required to bring their laptops and develop their prototypes into end products.

April 4th - 5th

Participation Guidelines

  • You must use Intel® AI Analytics Toolkit and Libraries to participate.
  • Participants must strictly adhere in using the Intel® AI Analytics Toolkits while framing their projects.

We strongly recommend that participants utilize the Intel® Developer Cloud (IDC) for developing and deploying their projects. This platform not only offers the advantage of high-performance GPU and enterprise-grade CPU but also provides access to the latest Intel hardware and software capabilities. By leveraging these resources, you can ensure optimal performance and efficiency for your projects. So, make the most of these cutting-edge technologies to bring your innovative ideas to life.

  • Participants must strictly engage in the use of Intel® AI Analytics Toolkits, its libraries & SYCL/DPC++ libraries while framing their ideations. If not, your project will not be considered for further evaluation.
  • The ideations of the participants must be compiled in the form of a PowerPoint Presentation (PPT) converted into a PDF format for submission.
  • A sample template for idea submission will be given to the participants in their hackathon dashboard, all the points mentioned in the template should strictly be covered in their submission.
  • Link of the GitHub repository will be given to the participants in their hackathon dashboard.
  • Participants will be required to fork this repository and update the README file, filling in the required details.
  • To avoid disqualification, participants must submit their ideas in the hackathon dashboard before the deadline.
  • The prototype submission should be made on a GitHub public repository.
  • The entire code base needs to be present on the team's GitHub repository.
  • The prototype submission must emphasize on both deployment and inference, with and without Intel® one API.
  • Pull requests of the forked repository need to be generated.

No. You do not need to pay any registration fees for the Intel AI Hackathon, Anokha 2024.

A team should contain 3-4 members.

The hackathon is open to undergraduates and postgraduates currently pursuing B.Tech, M.Tech, B.E, M.E, B.Sc, M.Sc, or equivalent degrees.

The application closes on 7th March. Make sure to register and submit a project based on the given problem statement and theme!

Phase 1: Submit your Ideathon presentation as a PowerPoint file on Google Drive and upload the link. Phase 2: Submit your project or prototype on GitHub; details will be provided later.

While a complete implementation is not mandatory, the submission should be functional, accompanied by proof of concepts/prototypes for review by the judges.

You will be required to develop the entire software application on your local system or Intel DevCloud and submit it on GitHub. Include instructions for running the application and share the source code.

Feel free to enhance your submission by providing a brief presentation or video. If you choose to do so, upload it as a private video on YouTube and share the link with us. Keep in mind that this is optional and not a mandatory requirement.

It is acceptable to submit only the prototype. If you utilize databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, you have the option to include a database dump along with your submission.

The developer or developers of the web/mobile application will retain all rights and ownership of the intellectual property (IP) for the product. However, it is a requirement that all code be in the public domain (open source) for evaluation by the judges.
